Greetings
from Denmark :)
I
stumbled across your page on a websearch on Asatru (I'm a bit of a geek.
Studying Asatru is a favourite pastime of mine
when I'm not busy studying
economics.
You can never learn enough) and found myself clicking on the photos section.
I noticed the group pictures from Ostara 2006 and I had to email you
with
a resounding Thank You. Left-wings politicians over here haven't stopped telling
us how badly our image has been damaged in the eyes of the international
community but funny enough, that 'damage' only seems to be in the
eyes of politicians and the UN. It's heartwarming beyond words to see people
display our flag in support thousands of miles away, to see that even while
the so-called 'international community' backs down, the normal hard-working
population won't. Some fights you can't avoid and me, personally, I'm
proud of our government. Fuck the threats and the 'possible risk of terrorist
attacks' - it's a matter of freedom of speech and that's one of the most
precious things we have. We're mainly an atheist country (the majority of
the members of the official church community only
show up for Christmas, if even then) so
instead we choose to fight for our right to poke fun at anyone who
deserves it, even (or especially) if said someone is a overly sensitive oppressive
religion of nutballs who think they can tell us what to do. Well, most
of us. The leftwings seem to think we should roll over and apologise instead.
Amusingly, the surveys tell them to stuff it on a regular basis since the
government still has the same support now as it did when it was re-elected
last year. I think it's because most of us have
seen how the Swedes are doing - they kept
letting in practically everyone who asked, we stopped doing that five
years ago. You can actually see that in the crime statistics.
..
And that was a bit of a long ramble for something that was basically a 'Thank
you' from a Danish Asatru. I hope you have a great summer and a wonderful
Ęgir's Feast when it's time for that.
