FEAST OF ÆGIRS 2008

September 12th thru 14th 2008

Hammer of Thor Kindred invites you to join us as we return to Big Sur to celebrate Feast of Ægirs. Camp Pico Blanco is located on the Little Sur River, 29 miles from Carmel. Located in the Ventana Wilderness of the Big Sur coast area, the camp is south of Carmel off Highway One and inland 13 miles on Palo Colorado Road. The camp is situated on over 800 acres along the North Fork of the Little Sur River and is surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest. The site features tent camping, flush toilets, running water (See Note Below), showers, and glorious river and mountain views.

We need volunteers to help with preparing for the Feast on Saturday night, If you can help cook, set up or clean up let us know. Contact person will be announced soon. Every little bit helps in getting Dinner going so please if you can, VOLUNTEER.

At this time this is still in effect.

Note: "Camp Pico Blanco is currently experiencing difficulties with the water system. Due to a bacteria found in water testing we were instructed to begin using boiled or bottled water for ALL cooking and drinking. However, the campground will provide all water needed for drinking and cooking. While repairs to the supplies are pending they have taken all precautions asked by the county health department and are notifying all users of our camp of the current situation. We apologize for any difficulties this may present. The ranger has informed us that the situation might be corrected in the near future. Thank you!"

Unfortunately, no dogs or firearms are allowed at Feast of Ægirs. Also, please leave any recorded music, videos or other noisy technology at home so that all can enjoy the natural setting without disturbance. All camping is by tent, and all activities are out of doors. Dress warmly and plan for damp weather. All garbage must be carted out, and alcohol is strictly forbidden (remember this is a Boy Scout camp. The same rules that applied at Feast of Ægirs last year apply here.) Except for the Saturday feast, all meals are your responsibility. Unlike past gatherings, there will be NO FOOD PLAN this time. Do to circumstances beyond our control, there is No Electricity or Cell Phone service at Camp Pico Blanco.
